My name is Heatherlee Chan and I am a watercolor artist living in Southern California.
I am mostly known for painting pictures of friendship, flowers, and nature. I am just an old fashioned girl that cannot get enough of books, flowers, vast skies, old houses with attics, butterflies, and gorgeous dresses. You can see my obsessions here! My childhood was spent with my nose in a book adoring heroines with spirit. Because of that first love, I like to paint pictures that tell a story. As an artist, I sell my art in my shop and share my process on Instagram. My work is licensed on products such as greeting cards, wall art, stationery, fabric, and garden flags. I also illustrated a watercolor coloring book by Klutz called Watercolor Crush. |
Most of my day is spent taking care of our family of three kids, but when I get the chance to be alone you can find me at my art desk. I sit at a parquet wood table placed beside a big window so I can soak in the natural light. A whimsical bush grows across the window attracting colorful hummingbirds. They tap the window to say hello. When I am not painting, you can usually find me bingeing on a time period drama, reading this month’s book for my Book Club, or having fun pinning to my Pinterest boards. My husband loves to travel and so far my favorite spot he has taken me to is a little village nestled in the Swiss Alps called La Fouly. Eight years ago my husband passed away suddenly from heart failure, leaving behind our two children and me. I wrote about my grief and tremendous loss on my blog. Life gave me a second chapter. I have also written about finding myself, falling in love again, getting married, and adding to our family a little girl. I stopped painting for awhile because grief hit me so hard. But now my heart overflows with C O L O R again. Still here?! Let’s connect via email! I would love the hear from you. Contact me at heatherlee.chan@gmail.com |
